Absessed Tooth...I'm about to get the pliars out

Just got back from the dentist...crooks. They want $1000 to give me a root canal, and because it's a capped tooth, they are charging me another grand for the new cap.

Bastards. Anyone every wait one out? The pain comes in waves but when it hits it feels like the right side of my jaw was just used as a punching bag...

I must be missing something - you acknowledge that you need a root canal - who cares if you pay today or next week - why not address it immediately - what are waiting out for?

My front tooth took a punch while training and I figured I could walk it off...the pain wasn't much cause well I'm a tough guy ...But i went in for my regular check up on Friday and the Absessed tooth got an infection. The dentist put me on Penicillin right away, and now i have do go back tomorrow and check to see it the tooth can be saved. If not I have to get an implant. costing me a bunch o cash. have to do it because I don't want to look like a hillbilly with no tooth. get is fixed sooner than later.

when the pain comes.... use mouthwash on the tooth itself (listerine)

Don't take this lightly. What Journeyman says is true. I also know a person who ended up with heart problems as a result of a dental situation. Take care of it right away. Your dentist should have explained this to you.
